As you know, teen bullying has sky-rocket through the roof in these past couple months. Thousands of teens everywhere, are being picked on for their weight, religion, race, their intelligence, for being an outcast, and for being homosexual. There’s many affects to bullying, there’s depression, suicide, mental health problems, and possible homicide. Some people say that the people who are being bullied should “toughen up” and “get over it” and it will make you stronger, but it’s kind of difficult to “toughen up” when another individual is making fun of your insecurities and making you more uncomfortable. As an ex victim of teen bullying, I was made fun of constantly everyday by girls and boys. They made fun of my weight, looks and my intelligence, in my middle school years, I was on the chubby side, I wore jeans and shirts that were big on me, and I have a learning disability. I was bullied in the hallways, classrooms and the girls’ locker room, the more of I tried to fit in, and ignored it, the worse the bullying gotten for me. I had thoughts of dropping out of school and being home-schooled and thoughts of suicide, but I conquer through it. I told my parents and they took the matter to their hands, the people who bullied me, was RPC to further notice. By the time they got back to school, my family and I move to a different location, so I had to start over, which was a good thing. But even though, the bullying stopped, it still scares me in my dreams, and I get flashbacks when I see somebody else being bullied.
If you or someone you know is being bullied, tell someone, tell your teacher, counselor or parents. If you don’t handle the problem, it will expand and risk your life.
Thank You
